Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility receives further industry recognition

December 5, 2008 - London, England, The awards keep pouring in for the CCRIF.

At the Insurance Day London Market Awards 2008 held on December 4, the world’s first and only multi-nation catastrophe risk fund, the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility, was named Transaction of the Year. This award comes hot on the heels of the CCRIF receiving the honour of Re/Insurance Initiative of the Year at the 2008 Review Worldwide Reinsurance Awards.

Accepting the award on behalf of the facility was Nick Moss from Aon Benfield – the CCRIF’s reinsurance broker.

CCRIF to Host Workshop on Parametric Insurance and New Product Developments/Modelling

November 4, 2008—KINGSTON,The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) will host a workshop on parametric insurance and new product developments, as part of the annual Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management, to be held in Barbados from December 8-12, 2008.

CCRIF Member Governments Renew Catastrophe Risk Insurance Coverage for 2008 Hurricane Season

June 11, 2008 - The 16 member countries of the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) have renewed their 2008 policies, ensuring that they will continue to have immediate access to liquidity if hit by an earthquake or major hurricane.

April 7, 2008 - The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) announced the appointment of Isaac Anthony and Dr. Warren Smith to its board today. The new members will represent the interests of CARICOM and the Caribbean Development Bank respectively.

February 21, 2008 - The CCRIF is constantly in dialogue with our government members, taking suggestion on what to include for our 2008 renewal period as well as developing the overall vision for the Facility. The result has been a series of updates the Facility plans to introduce in 2008.
