CCRIF’s Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025 has been produced at a time when the world and indeed our member governments and their populations continue to face unprecedented disruptive effects. Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is considered the region in the developing world that has been hardest hit by the pandemic, resulting in the worst economic contraction in the history of this region. This has been characterized by sharp increases in unemployment, which have had a knock-on effect on household incomes and the ability of families to meet basic needs. The CCRIF Annual Report for policy year 2023/24 which began June 1, 2023 and ended May 31, 2024. This report represents 17 years since CCRIF opened for business in 2007. The success of CCRIF has not gone unnoticed here in the regions we serve and further afield. CCRIF – the world’s first multi-country, multi-peril risk pool based on parametric insurance – is referred to as the Caribbean and Central America’s parametric insurance facility and development insurer. Gran Caimán, Islas Caimán, 20 de octubre de 2023. El CCRIF SPC realizó dos pagos por un total de US$3,4 millones a los Gobiernos de Antigua y Barbuda y las Islas Vírgenes Británicas tras la tormenta tropical Philippe. Philippe tocó tierra en Antigua y Barbuda el 2 de octubre y pasó cerca de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas el 4 de octubre, provocando fuertes lluvias e inundaciones en ambos países. El CCRIF realizó pagos en las pólizas de seguro paramétrico para exceso de lluvia, como sigue:

El Gobierno ha adquirido cobertura de seguro paramétrico para exceso de lluvia, efectiva a partir del 1 de junio de 2023. El director ejecutivo del CCRIF, el Sr.

La Unión Europea (UE) sigue brindando apoyo al CCRIF SPC como medio para subsidiar las primas de las pólizas de seguro paramétrico de sus miembros del Caribe. Este año de póliza, que comenzó el 1o de junio 2023, la UE proporcionó US$4,7 millones al CCRIF para apoyar a los 12 miembros caribeños del CCRIF que son elegibles para ODA1 para subsidiar las primas para ciclones tropicales y exceso de lluvia.
