A magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred at 14:50:05 (UTC) on 16 May 2026, located at 61 km (37.9 mi) WNW of Codrington, Barbuda, Antigua and Barbuda; 67.7 km (42.1 mi) WSW of Saint John’s, Saint John, Antigua and Barbuda and 122.3 km (76 mi) S of Le Moule, Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe. Initial estimates from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) located the epicentre of the event at 17.430°N, 61.294°W, and at a depth of 51.2 km (31.8 mi).
