The Risk Management Specialist is full-time technical role providing technical support to the management team in catastrophe risk modelling, risk management, and financial planning strategies. The role is pivotal to risk evaluation processes, exercising in-depth knowledge of catastrophe models to operate, interpret, and adapt them for optimal performance. Post-event performance analysis and model improvement recommendations will be key aspects of the function as well as supporting project management, product development and cooperation with research institutions.
The position-holder requires expertise in catastrophe modelling and an understanding of actuarial methods as well as strong mathematical skills with special focus on statistics and probability. Experience with computer programming, GIS software, and the Linux OS is essential.
A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Risk Assessment, Environmental Engineering or Data Science, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in catastrophe modelling and actuarial methods is preferred. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with 7 years' relevant experience can be considered. The ability and willingness to work virtually, travel occasionally, and manage a flexible schedule is a must.
The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communications skills in English. Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset.
