In 2014, the facility was restructured into a segregated portfolio company (SPC) to facilitate offering new products and expansion into new geographic areas and is now named CCRIF SPC. The new structure, in which products are offered through a number of segregated portfolios, allows for total segregation of risk.

Whilst dealing with the fiscal demands to undertake relief operations such as ensuring the availability of emergency assistance and sourcing funding for shelter, food and medical attention for displaced persons, governments also have to contend with the simultaneous challenge of mobilising enough resources to undertake the medium- to long-term recovery and reconstruction process.
